We wish to acknowledge the land we live and work on is that of indigenous peoples. Here where we live, the Luiseno and Kumeyaay remain within their traditional territories. We honor their heritage and acknowledge their ongoing trauma. We recognize that we have benefitted from the colonialization of these territories.

Heather and Terry Thelen are on a mission to keep homesteading arts alive and thriving. 

Homesteading is a big passion of ours. We love to share with others how they can be more self-sustaining at home too. We carry products to help with these projects and even have a yearly event that is designed to connect those that have homesteading skills and arts with those that wish to learn.

We have a great love for horses and we volunteer at and support our local rescue and rehabilitation sites whenever possible.

Hawthorne Country Stores offers a variety of feeds and supplements for our customers. If we don’t have a product you are looking for please ask, we may be able to special order it in for you. We also carry tack and other supplies like wormers and fly control as well.

At Hawthorne Country Stores, no matter how big or small, we can feed them all. We stock feed for chickens, goats, pigs, sheep, and cattle. We have supplies to outfit your barn too.

With three generations to serve you we not only have experiences to share, we also have information on products and feed to help ensure your animals are healthy and thriving.
